Centre Block Guided Tours / Peace Tower Self-Guided Tours (Year-Round): Schedules and tours of the Centre Block vary(sometimes without notice) depending on the day you visit. Check the official website to see a detailed schedule. Most people include a self-guided tour of the Peace Tower after visiting the Centre Block. Note that the Peace Tower closes half an hour before the last guided tour of Centre Block. Residence Tours: Between June 27 and September 5, public guided tours of the residence are offered daily from 10 am to 4 pm. In the off-season guided tours are offered on weekends only (see website for hours). The residence is also open for self-guided tours in the mornings during July and August; perfect for groups and families with young children. Grounds Tours: The grounds of Rideau Hall are open from 8 am until one hour before sunset. Guided tours of the grounds are offered from May to September, by reservation. See website for details. Family Activities: Click on the "Family Activities" tab of the website to learn about this summer's family fun at Rideau Hall, offered from June 27th to September 5th, 2011. Be sure to also check out the Ceremonial Guard, as sentries, led by a piper, march to their posts at Sussex Gate and in front of the Residence. The Ceremonial Guard can be seen daily from June 27 to August 26, every hour on the hour from 9 am to 5 pm. Art Tours: The Residence is the home to the Crown Collection and to temporary art exhibitions, tours of which are included in the residence and art tours. Visit the Musical Ride Centre to tour the facility, the stables and see the horses that captivate all who see them perform in the Musical Ride.
Free tours are available every half hour. For groups of 20 or more, please email tours(at)rcmp-f(dot)ca or call 613-741-4285 to book a time slot. Tours are available on the following days: May to August: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. September to April: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Visitors are always welcome, even when tours are not being offered. The Centre grounds are ideal for a picnic, and there are always horses getting exercise in the outdoor pens. |

Watson’s Mill is a unique 19th century grist and flour mill located in Manotick, on the shores of the Rideau River, a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site. It is the only industrial heritage site in the City of Ottawa and has a remarkable history linked to local politics, the building of a country, and a tragic love story. Miling is done on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Free Audio Guides for the Mill Discovery Tour are available daily.
